The world of work is evolving faster than ever, driven by technological advancements, globalization, and the shifting needs of employers. Students today must be prepared to enter an interconnected workforce where adaptability, innovation, and intercultural fluency are essential. Career-integrated global learning programs provide a transformative pathway for students to develop these future-ready skills, ensuring they are equipped to thrive in diverse and rapidly changing professional environments.
The CIGL Conference Committee invites innovative and impactful proposals exploring how global learning prepares students for the future of work. From global internships and co-ops to industry-based projects and pre-professional residencies, these experiences foster career readiness while cultivating critical skills, such as intercultural communication, problem-solving, and resilience. Special emphasis will be placed on emerging trends in the global workplace, including the integration of AI and remote work, the increasing demand for global competencies, and strategies to ensure equitable access to transformative opportunities.
Proposals incorporating insights from Costa Rica, our 2025 host country, and featuring diverse program models, applied learning methods, and cross-sector collaborations are especially welcome. Sessions that engage perspectives from both higher education and external stakeholders, including employers, community organizations, and policymakers, are strongly encouraged.
